Alex Pearlstein has been at Market Street since 2003 and currently serves as Vice President. In this role, Mr. Pearlstein oversees the development of all strategic deliverables for Market Street clients. He also continues to serve a day-to-day management role for specific projects. As project manager, he has overseen strategies for dozens of clients in 25 states. Communities include Austin, TX (six projects); Nashville, TN; Kansas City, MO; Naples, FL; Rochester, MN; Tulsa, OK; Des Moines, IA; Memphis, TN; Morgantown, WV; Coachella Valley, CA; St. Petersburg, FL; Sioux Falls, SD; the state of Missouri; and the province of Alberta, among others.
Alex received a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning with a specialization in Economic Development from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s of arts in Communications from the University of California at San Diego. He has been an instructor at Basic Economic Development courses in Georgia, Alabama, and Arkansas. Alex has been quoted in Bloomberg.com, the New York Times, CNBC.com, and dozens of local and regional business journals, newspapers, and magazines.
A native of Los Angeles, Alex currently lives in Birmingham, Alabama with his wife and daughter. Two crazy dogs round out the family. He enjoys a good puzzle, crosswords and Sudoku especially. A passionate fan of college sports, Alex follows all Georgia Tech teams as well as UAB and Iowa State football. For reasons unknown, he also has a long-standing love of palindromes.
