Kat joined the Market Street team in early 2017. Kat has over 15 years of experience in marketing, design, brand strategy, and project management, and supports our project teams by applying her broad experience and extensive technical skills. Her passion for livable spaces and community building has always been a huge motivator; from 2012-2016 she served on the board of directors of BFS, a non-profit established with the goal of educating communities on the dangers of celebratory gunfire. Kat also has experience with Spanish-English translation and interpreting, proof-reading scripts for multi-lingual training films, and even recording Spanish language voice-overs herself.
Kat studied communications, marketing, and psychology at the University of Puerto Rico and graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Commercial Advertising. Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Kat's passion for travel has taken her all over the globe. She believes the best places on the planet are the ones you can only get to on foot. Hiking and backpacking in places as far-flung as Peru, North Africa and Iceland has given her a global perspective that informs everything she does. When not at work you'll find her planning the next travel destination, hiking The Appalachian Trail, or camping under the stars in the North Georgia mountains.
